Kelly Concepts, LLC is pleased to announce the introduction of The Kelly SHU® Tommyz, an integrated internal shock-mount system to support tom drum microphones inside the drum shell.
The Kelly SHU® Tommyz main mounting unit is individually produced from high-strength aluminum alloys and finished in a durable black coating. Tommyz will be available in 3 different sizes: to fit inside drum shells of 8 inches, 10 inches or 12 inches in diameter. (The photo shown here is a 10-inch tom.) With a direct order option, we can also address your 13 inch tom drums.
Locating the microphone inside the drum will physically reduce cross-talk between microphones and eliminates stick strikes to the microphone itself. Utilizing our Patented support system, the Kelly SHU® Tommyz will reliably keep the microphone in a fixed position so you know that gig after gig, your sound is always consistent.
Easy to install with no drilling required, each Tommyz also includes the Kelly SHU® Plugz XLR connection system, which allows the user to connect their microphone to the audio system via the air vent hole in the shell using standard and familiar connectors. Each unit also comes with a handy rubberized bracket you can use to locate the exterior male XLR connection at one of the drum’s tuning lugs. Kelly SHU® Tommyz utilizes existing hardware screws for quick, non-invasive and easy installation.
